Story Club (P1-P3)
Story Club is for children in P1-3 to come together, listen to stories, bring them to life and create their own. We play games and take part in Storytelling and Art activities in order to build confidence, friendships and positive wellbeing. This club is developed to engage all ages within P1-3 and staff are responsive to all children’s stages, abilities and interests.
Please wear comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting messy as we often go outdoors and take part in messy art activities.
In Schools…
We also deliver a weekly, closed Story Clubs in partnership with local schools.
Story Makers (P4-P7)
Story Makers is a club for upper primary participants who meet weekly to explore bold and exciting tales! Through games, storytelling exercises, creative movement and arts & crafts, the participants are encouraged to begin generating and shaping their own stories, led by industry professionals. At Story Makers we aim to instil confidence in each and every child, allowing them to find their own unique voice through the power of story. The group is a safe space for the children to make friends, have fun and let their imaginations soar!
Young Storytellers (S1+)
Young Storytellers is a youth-led storytelling project that places the participants at the heart of the decision-making process. This young people meet weekly to decide on and explore the stories and themes that are relevant to them, and to learn from industry professionals, including, drama specialists, visual artists, storytellers, podcasters and more! The Young Storytellers create their own original works to be shared at festivals, events and to the wider youth arts sector, with the aim of amplifying the voices of young people in Scotland. The group is open to any young person in S1 or above and is a fun and accessible introduction to storytelling (no experience necessary). Previous work includes the short film ‘The Council of the Earth’ which was screened as part of COP26 in Glasgow, ‘Paper Rainbows’ which was performed at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in July 2022 as part of the Village Storytelling Festival, followed by a sold out performance of Break A Leg in 2024, based on the graphic novel of the same name, devised and produced by the young people, in collaboration with artist Gillian Mendoza.
